Social media has offered something to businesses that were never available at any time in the past. It is now possible to interact with thousands, schedule your social updates for share if not millions of people and to do so at a moment’s notice. We may have multiple social accounts that allow us to do so and we find that it helps to drive our business and keeps us thriving.
One of the fears of having social accounts is the fact that you are at the mercy of those who own the social network. It doesn’t matter if it is Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn, they control everything, and at a moment’s notice, you may find that your account is shut down and you are locked out. There are some things that you can do, however, to avoid this problem and to keep your social accounts active.
One thing you can do is to become familiar with the rules of that particular social platform. Each of them is going to have their set of guidelines, and it is important that you stay within those guidelines very carefully. That being said, there are always going to be times when you may step outside of the lines, such as using automated software or perhaps posting something that may be on the border. Be very careful that you don’t push it to the limit, because you may have a difficult time getting your account back if it is banned.
Something else that you can do is to contact the social network frequently and to build up a rapport. If something should happen to your account and it is suspended, you can often talk to them and straighten the situation out. It may just be a simple misunderstanding, and most of them are willing to help you get back in good graces again.
